When your home doubles as a gear shed, or headquarters for a commercial fishing vessel ...here's how it can go: dungeness crab season means preparing 500 crab pots and all their line, buoys, baiters and tags. Today the "crew" (husband, sons, son's girlfriend and our almost fullshare greenhorn are working on the back patio.
The youngest is learning to coil line. Next is Brandon, 11, who's running out the shots of line.
Husband and son are splicing eyes in the shots. Thomas is learning this skill, so he's watching the masters at work.
Even Kenny's girlfriend assists with the coiling.
Me, I'm cleaning house, doing laundry and cooking...taking photos here and there, noticing how much disarray and dirt are present!
